Alkoxides

Alkoxides are highly active homogeneous catalysts used in the transesterification process, where triglycerides from vegetable oils, used cooking oils or animal fats react with methanol to produce Fatty Acid Methyl Esters (FAME) (Biodiesel) and Glycerol.

Available Alkoxide Catalysts:
NM30
KM 32

Chemistry

Sodium Methylate (30% in Methanol)

Potassium Methylate (32% in Methanol)

Recommended Feedstock

Refined vegetable oils and low FFA feedstocks

Used cooking oils, animal fats and higher FFA feedstocks

Primary Advantage

Maximum conversion efficiency and high biodiesel yield

Excellent performance with lower-quality and variable feedstocks

Maximising biodiesel yield with fast, consistent performance across diverse feedstocks.
Benefits include:
  • High catalytic activity for fast, efficient transesterification
  • Maximises biodiesel (FAME) yield
  • Reduces soap formation and simplifies downstream processing
  • Produces high-purity glycerol as a valuable by-product
  • Ready-to-use methanolic solutions for easy dosing
  • Consistent product quality and reliable plant performance
  • Suitable for both conventional and renewable feedstocks
